You elect representatives to lead.
Democracy
The power is given to the people, the citizens.
Direct Democracy
Every citizen is given an equal vote in government and, together, make all of the important decisions.
Indirect Democracy
Citizens elect lawmakers to represent their interests in the government.
Theocracy
There is a divine ruler.
Oligarchy
A small group of people in charge.
Dictatorship
No sharing power with other authorities.
Absolute Monarchy
The monarch holds total control over the country.
Constitutional Monarchy
The monarch holds some power.
Anarchy

Government
Government is a system and group of people who run a country.
Nation-State
A sovereign state whose citizens or subjects are relatively homogeneous in factors such as language or common descent.
What are the roles of Government?
To make and enforce laws, protect people and to provide public services.
What three powers do all governments have?
Make Laws, enforce laws and judiciary power.
Totalitarian
One political party is in power, and people are forced to do what the government tells them.
