What is the state of the union address?

What is force theory?
This theory suggests that a small group of people or person took control of the person/ group that had control over a population by force
Ex: Holocaust
What is evolutionary Theory?
The state developed naturally out of the early family groups
Ex: The Native Americans tribes
What is the Divine Right Theory
God created the states and gave those of royal birth the “divine right” to rule
Ex: “In god we trust” in our American currency to show that the government believes we come from “god.”
What is social contract theory?
People agreed to give up as much as needed freedom to create a state that provided safety and well-being for all
Ex: American constitution and our government
In politics, what does the term “grassrootss campaign” means?
It’s a self-organized local-level efforts to encourage other members of the community to participate in activities
What is the significance of Iowa Caucus?
They have nation status of who would select the U.S presidential candidate
What is the difference between a primary and a caucus
Primary- You vote and leave
Caucus- Less formal, public sorting and you have to engage your neighbors to get your side
ex. Iowa
What’s the significance of “Super Tuesday”?
A day during the presidential primary, during which the greatest number of states hold their primaries and caucus.
What’s the difference b/t a primary election and a general election?
In a primary election is an intra party election, meaning election is occurring within the political party to select nominees for the upcoming general election

Close- Only registered party members can vote
Open- anyone can vote regardless of registration
