What is Gout

What is osteoarthritis
Degenerative joint disease affecting weight bearing joints eg knees and hips
Symptoms of osteoarthritis
Joint pain, especially in morning
Improves with rest/worse with exercise
Signs of osteoarthritis
Radiographs
loss of joint space & subchondral sclerosis
osteophyte lipping at joint edge
radiographs may show ASYMPTOMATIC changes
- is OA the cause of symptoms?
Joint swelling & deformity
