Exoticism
Definition: It is something that is different or stands out.
Example: A colorful parrot in a flock of pigeons could be the example of something using exoticism as it would stand out and would be able to catch someone’s eye.
Sentence: The man who dresses in pink all the time was told to leave the village as he didn’t fit in and stood out too much.
Indusrialisation
Definition: Something that is sustainable and has actual use for something.
Example: Getting rucksack for school instead of a handbag could be industrialisation as it is more practical.
Sentence: We decided to get a black sofa instead of a white one as when our dog jumps on it, it gets muddy!
Romanticisim
Definition: Something that is emphasized by emotion or imagination. It is the opposite of industrialisation.
Example: A fictional fairytale possibly could be an example of romanticism as it may have the sense of the impracticality of relying on magic and wishes.
Sentence: All of the bad men had eaten a magical cake to make them good people and peace was restored.
Sublime
Definition: It is something that is naturally beautiful or pleasing.
Example: A huge castle could be sublime because despite being powerful and big, it can also be spiritual and pretty.
Sentence: The looming oak trees overlooked the little cottage in the woods.
Terror
Definition: Extreme fear, a physical reaction to something that scares you.
Example: If you have a phobia of spiders and you come into contact with one, you may feel terror because you would be having a physically scared reaction to it.
Sentence: I couldn’t breath when the killer went near the spot where I lay, ready to be found.
Horror
Definition: A feeling of fear or shock after a terrifying experience or happening.
Example: You would be in horror if you had just watched someone drown but you wouldn’t be in horror during it happening.
