How might it be argued that natural evil does not happen by chance?

A

Natural evil could be stopped by God. If he is all loving and all powerful he could stop it. This suggests he lets it happen or causes it

Adam and Eve caused it
“Cursed is the ground because of you”

22
Q

Three reasons for moral behaviour?

A

Bible
Conscience
Faith in Christ

23
Q

A

Ten Commandments.
Sermon on the mount.

How to be what God wants you to be

24
Q

Why might the bible teaching Christians to act morally not work?

A

It contradicts itself

E.g.

“An eye for an eye”
“You have heard it said an eye for an eye but I say to turn the other cheek”

25
Q

How does conscience teach Christians how to act morally

A

It’s the “voice of God within” so if they obey that it will be moral

26
Q

Why might using your conscience as a guide to help you act morally not work?

A

Situation ethics -Joseph fletcher. Nothing is black and white

Different people’s consciences contradict eachother. Why is God contradicting himself?

27
Q

Why might faith in Christ help Christians to act morally?

A

Jesus teaches how to behave
“Love thy neighbour”

Treated everyone equally … Healed women…
