GOOD- What is God?
God is omnibenevolent, omniscient, and omnipotent.
God is all-good, all-important, and all-present
God is the supreme good.
GOOD- What are the christian reasons why god is good?
1) he created the world for people to live in
2) He saved the Israelites when they were in slavery
3) Come down to earth in the form of jesus, died on cross
4) he send miracles to help this in need
EVIL- what are the two types of evil and explain?
Moral= what people cause Natural= earthquake etc.
EVIL- What can evil cause?
Evil can cause suffering, religious, mental, emotional and physical suffering.
EVIL-What do christians believe about Satan and evil?
they say that evil can be satan- brought evil into goes world Some see him as the devil Bible says satan is gods fallen angel Satan= ruler of hell Satan represents evil in everyone
EVIL- What can evil be and evil =?
Evil can be a weakness within a person.
Evil= ‘absence of god’
What are the christian beliefs about good?
They get their sense of right and wrong from god (conscience)
Bible- ‘Love thy neighbour’
Do good thing and help people, you go to heaven
At the end of time evil will be conquered by the goodness of god.
Why do christians follow a moral code?
They believe god is a judge and looks at our actions.
To worship god because he is all good.
Wants to follow gods rules, because they were made for a world of justice/ fairness.
What do christians believe about suffering?
Suffering makes us better people, christians help sufferers
Ask god for his help when suffering
Evil/ suffering is a test from god
We have to suffer evil because we have free will
How do christians cope with suffering?
Atonement/ forgiveness
'at-one-god' Christians: repent their sins confess their sins follow gods commandments or rules in bible love thy neighbour follow/ listen to their conscience
Forgiveness- what parables show forgiveness?
The lost son and the lost sheep show god forgives if you repent.
The lords prayer shows that christians must forgive others for their wrong doings.
Parable of the unforgiving servant- if you do not forgive others then god will not forgive you.
What are the right ways to behave?
Prey to god and ask him follow the 10 commandments follow the bible listen to their conscience Ask a victor or a priest read bible go to church what would jesus do? follow example of good christians
What was original sin?
the sin which eve brought into the world when she picked the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the garden of eden
What was the fall and explain?
when eve ate the apple from the tree of knowledge and ate it. Adam and eve were driven out of the garden of eden
