goni & MMT - hip Flashcards
flexion goni
moving arm: lateral femoral condyle / midline of the femur
fulcrum: greater trochanter
stationary arm: midline of the trunk
stabilize: pelvis
move the: distal femur
subs: IR/ER of hip, ADD/ABD of hip
flexion ROM
0-120/135
pt position w/ flexion goni
supine
feet on the table
extension goin
moving arm: lateral femoral condyle / midline of the femur
fulcrum: greater trochanter
stationary arm: midline of the trunk
stabilize: pelvis, @ end ROM the pelvis rotates anteriorly
move: distal femur
subs: ABD, anterior pelvic tilt, coming out of the plane
extension ROM
0-10-30
pt position extension goni
prone
ABD goni
moving arm: patella, straight down the femur
fulcrum: ASIS
stationary: opposite ASIS
stabilization: iliac crest, end ROM is when iliac crest starts to rise
move: ankle and heel
subs: ER, hip hiking, trunk side bending
ABD ROM
0-30-50
ABD pt position goni
supine w/ legs extended
move pt all the way to one side of the table
pt can hold the goni
ADD goni
moving arm: patella, straight down the femur
fulcrum: ASIS
stationary: opposite ASIS
stabilization: iliac crest, end ROM is when iliac crest starts to drop
move: ankle and heel
subs: IR, pelvic drop, trunk rotation
ADD ROM
0-10-30
ADD pt position goni
supine w/ legs extended
move pt all the way to one side of the table
pt can hold the goni
ER goni
moving arm: midline of the tib b/x malleoli
fulcrum: patella
stationary: perpendicular to the floor
stabilize: distal femur
move: leg medially holding distal tib
subs: thigh ABD, hip flexion, trunk movement, lateral pelvic tilt
ER ROM
0-45/60
pt position ER goni
seated in neutral
IR goni
moving arm: midline of the tib b/x malleoli
fulcrum: patella
stationary: perpendicular to the floor
stabilize: distal femur
move: leg laterally, holding distal tib
subs: thigh ABD, hip flexion, trunk movement, pelvic tilt
IR ROM
0-30/50
pt position IR goni
seated
MMT flexion muscles
iliopsoas
RF
MMT flexion –> pt position
seated on the edge of the table
hands will be placed on the table next to their pelvis
good posture
MMT flexion test
take through PROM
“can you lift your thigh off the table towards the ceiling?”
ask them to bring it up again
apply resistance at distal femur
MMT flexion gravity min
side lying
cradle their leg (w/ knee flexed) in one hand and stabilize the pelvis with the other
support leg through PROM
support leg through AROM
apply resistance to anterior distal thigh
can get a 2 or 2+
