38
Q

When do we need to list an alternate airport?

A

39
Q

What does Trans States Airlines consider marginal weather?

A

When both destination and alternates weather is below 800’ ceiling or 2 miles visibility.

40
Q

How do we derive alternate minimums?

A

Single nav-aid, suitable approach
-add 400ft and 1 mile visibility to the

Multiple nav-aids, suitable approaches, different identifiers
-add 200 ft and 1/2 mile visibility to the higher ceiling and visibility

41
Q

What is the 3585 Exemption?

A

This exemption requires listing two alternates. With this we have the ability to take-off when our first alternate goes below minimums in the conditional language of the forecast, i.e., TEMPO, PROB or BECOM but only down to half of the derived minimums. The second alternate must be no lower than the derived minimums at ETA “golden.”
