Golden rules Flashcards
Golden Rule One
V&V should be conducted throughout
Continuous activity through model development - accuracy has to be assessed while the work is being performed
Golden Rule Two
Outcome should not be considered perfect or unperfect.
Models are an abstraction, expectations for perfect should not be concluded
Should be judged on a nominal scale
Golden Rule Three
A model is built for an intended purpose, therefore its accuracy should be judged with respect to its intended use.
A model itself is considered….
…A representation which can be created in many different ways depended on intended use.
… Valid judeged with respect to intended uses and found to be sufficient.
Golden Rule Four
The model verification requires independence to prevent developer, technical, managerial and financial bias.
Golden Rule Five
The model and verification are complex and require creativity and insight into understanding its function.
Why might models and simulations be difficult to understand..
Lack of data, sufficient domain specific knowledge, lack of experts, inability to effectivity employ developers due to conflict of interest.
