What offences would one go equipped to commit?
Burglary, Theft, Cheat.
Give examples of items that could qualify for this offence?
Equipment to remove security tags, keys for gaining access to cars, property etc., Other tools for gaining access to vehicles and property eg crowbar.
Where must the person be on their way to?
It must be proved that they are on their way to a property to burgle it with items to aid them.
When can they not be guilty of going equipped?
If they are just carrying the items or are on their way from an offence as the offence has been committed.
Where can they not be “going equipped”?
in their place of abode
What is meant by “have with them”?
The article must be under their control. Under a car seat etc.
How is this offence tried?
