Q

Cadmus

A

Cadmus was the only one of his brothers and mother to last when they tried looking for Europa, their sister. He met heaps of people on the way to find a cow which the oracle told him to follow. These people helped to look for the sister but they were thirsty and went down to drink at a spring where they were eaten by a dragon. Cadmus then killed the dragon and was told by a voice to plant it’s teeth which had broken. He did so and some giants immediately grew. He threw a rock which led to them fighting with each other and in the end only five of them remained and they offered to help find Europa. He also got them to build on the city ,and and this place was called Thebes. He was then rewarded by Jupiter with Harmonia but unfortunately when they failed to offer an important sacrifice so Jupiter turned them into giant serpents in anger.
