Concept of god in process theology
Differs from traditional Christian beliefs because of its views on the nature of god as not omnipotent
Beliefs : Gods omnipotence
Theological mistake- he can’t be omnipotent the only power he has is the power of influence
He can’t perform miracles
Has no power to impose his will
Humans are to free to ignore god
He only has power of pursuasion
God and creation
He didn’t create it out of nothing, he brought about chaos
His role in c was limited, he encouraged it from what was already there
Nature of God in process theology
Denies gods immutability
God suffers along with the world
He is temporal doesn’t know the future
Does not deny God is eternal
He is not transcendent
His power is rational
Strengths
The fact he suffers may console some people
Assured your struggle is worth the strife
Encourage people to join fight against evil
Weaknesses
Denies god of classical theism
Makes him dependant on the world
Not Christian
