God’s temporality (is he outside time or active in the world?)
1. Atemporal - God is timeless which means He is outside time and not limited by it. He created all.
- God is active in time and can respond and change in response to events in the world and requests of his people.
He is everlasting which means he is IN time, with humans. - Bible verse: Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you.”
- Bible story: 2 Kings story of Hezekiah being healed after prayer and getting 15 more years; Flood in Exodus; destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah due to sinfulness.
- This means that Christians can be comforted that God sees and knows all things and is not limited/changing so whatever His plans are will happen.
- This means that Christians can see God as personal who will act in answer to prayer.
One could argue that BOTH together are true - perhaps his plans were always to answer in response to prayer…
What is does John 3:16 say about the trinty
The holy sprit proceeds from the farther.
