- Sacrotuberous lig.
Insertion:
- Deep part- Gluteal tuberosity
- Superficial part (larger)- Iliotibial tract (to lat. tibia)

Blood Supply:
- Sup./inf. gluteal arteries
Action:
- Extends hip/knee
- Strenuous extension e.g. climbing stairs “anti-gravity muscle”
Innervation:
- Inferior gluteal n.
- (L5-S2)

Origin:
- Lateral ilium between anterior and posterior gluteal lines
Insertion:
- Greater trochanter

- Sup. gluteal artery

- Abductor
- Ant. part- medial rotation
- Also stabilise body in swing period when opp. limb is off the ground

- Lateral ilium between anterior and inferior gluteal lines

- Greater trochanter (anterior to medius)
