A
Natural polypeptide hormone secreted by pancreas. Released to breakdown stored glycogen to Glucose and inhibits the synthesis of glycogen from glucose.

Indications
A
- It increase blood sugar in hypoglycemia W/O vascular access.
- beta blocker OD

Contraindications
A
- Hypersensitivity to glucagon or protein compounds
- Glucagon is only effective if glycogen is stored in liver

- hypotension
- hyperglycemia
- headache/dizziness
- N/V

Dosage
A
Adult:
Hypoglycemia:
1.0 Unit IM/SC repeat as needed 5-20min
Beta-Blocker OD:
2-3 Unites IV/IO over 2-5min
