what is an Act
a law that has been passed by politicians. it has to pas through the house of commons, house of lords and be signed by the monarch

Method of voting involving marking a paper and placing it in a box

a proposal for a law . it is called a bill until it becomes an act
what is a Borough Constituency
An area which elected MPs. Boroughs were urban areas and were called burghs in Scotland. Abolished in 1885

An Area which elects MPs. today each constituency elects one MP. This was not always the case; also called a seat
what is a County Constituency
An area which elected MPs. Counties were rural areas. abolished in 1885

another word for the right to vote
what is the House of Commons
Made up of MPs elected by the people. they have the vote for bills before they become acts of parliaments
what is the House of Lords
Made up of unelected lords. appointed or got their position as their title passed through the family. had to vote for bills before they become an act of Parliament

a method of voting where voters raise their hands

a member of Parliament elected to the house of commons

refers to the house of commons and the house of lords

Another term for a Lord
