Communism
last stage in Marx’s notion of the evolution of history where there is no state; everybody would be equal and share goods produced by machinery rather than by workers labour; increased leisure and people take what they need from a central pool of goods.
Autocrat
all powerful ruler
Socialism
workers control of state. Factories/machines owned collectively and run by state. Everyone is equal, class system brought to an end; wealth and goods are shared collectively and equal entitlement to good housing and standard of living
Totalitarianism
state in which power is concentrated in hands of one person/ small group exercising control over individuals and denying citizens fundamental civil and political liberties; monitoring and controlling life via secret police accountable to political elite.
Capitalism
economic system based on private enterprise and the profit motive in which the market determines the price of goods and services and regulates the supply and distribution of raw materials and product.
Popular revolutions
a revolution that is accepted and welcomed by the majority of the country
