Glomerular Disease Flashcards
History of infection with Group A beta hemolytic Streptococcus
AGN
Often a complication of immune systemic disorders -SLE cresentic formatios with macrophages in the basement membrane
Rapidly Progressive ( Crescentic ) Glomerulonephritis
Attachment of antiglomerular basement membrane
( autoantibody ) followed by complement activation producing capillary destruction
(ALVEOLAR BASEMENT MEMBRANE)
Good Pasteur Syndrome
Granuloma producing inflammation of the small vessels
( granulomatous vasculitis ) primarily of the kidney and respiratory system
Wegener Granulamtosis
Purpura Disease occurs primarily on children after UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS
SYMPTOMS:
GIT : BLOOD ON STOOL
Apperance of red patches on the skin
Henoch Scholein Purpura
Pronounce thickening of glomerular basement membrane following disposition of IgG
Membranous Glomerulonephritis
Immune complexes with IgA are deposited on the glomerular membrane
Berger’s Disease
Disruption of the PODOCYTES , occur primarily in children following allergic reactions and immunization and possession of HLA-B12
Minimal Change Disease ( Lipid Nephrosis )
Marked by 2 alterations
Type 1 - increased cellularity in the subendothelial cells of the mesangium ( interstitial area of the Bowman’s Capsule)
Type 2 - dense deposits in the basement membrane
MPGN
Immune deposits , Primarily IgM and C3 seen in association with abuse of heroin and analgesics , and with AIDS
Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis
Genetic disorder showing lamellated and thinning glomerular basement
Alport Syndrome
Marked decrease in renal fxn resulting from glomerular damage precipitated by other renal disorders
Chronic Glomerulonephritis
