What is a trade bloc?
Voluntary international organisations that exist for trading purposes,
bringing greater economic strength and security to the nations that join.
what is FDI?
Foreign Direct Investment is investment in a company in another country from a person or government etc.
what is a transition town?
A settlement where individuals and businesses have adopted bottom-up initiatives with the aim of making their community more sustainable and less reliant on global trade.
What is a consumer society?
A society in which the buying a selling of goods and services is the most important social and economic activity.
What is glocalisation?
the adaption of goods and services by a TNC is to meet local needs which would increase custom within a select region.
What are rural push factors?
-poverty
-conflict
-land reform
-climatic conditions and natural disasters
What are urban pull factors?
-employment opportunities
-better access to services
-better infrastructure and transport
what is economic globalisation?
Industries moved into developing countries to save on money, trade bloc’s, TNC’s
What is cultural globalisation?
exposure to media sources such as television and there is a greater awareness and understanding of world events due to education
