Global criminal economy has both demand and supply. The scale of transnational crime can be due to demand in the rich West and supply from developing countries ie 20% of Columbian population depends on drug cultivation for income and cocaine outsells all of Colombia’s other exports.

We cannot confine only the consumerism of the illegal substances but also the production
