What is globalisation?
the process by which people, culture, finance, goods and information transfer between countries with few barriers.
the world is becoming deeply connected which means that connections are longer and people can communicate with others no matter where they are in the world.

Economic- growth of tncs etc
cultural- McDonalds are in 120 countries with 30,000 restaurants which ensures people eat similar food
political-democracies and decision making
demographic-increases mixing and migrating of populations
environmental- increasing prevalence of environmental problems such as climate change

infrastructure

electronic banking
shrinking world
this means that distance and time is becoming less relevant because we can connect with the other side of the world so easily. for example we can contact people in china in an instant due to technological improvements.

how has transport enabled globalisation- containerisation and amazon
due to containers being able to carry a larger load, trade is a lot easier to import and export. containerisation has reduced the costs of shipping.
in 2016 amazon became the 4th most valuable company. the is due to the easy access of online shopping. anyone at any time can order from the site
