Global Warming Flashcards
What does weather mean?
The day to day changes in the earths atmosphere
What does climate mean?
It is the average temperature taken over a period of time, usually 30 years
What does drought mean?
No rain water for a long time
What does temperate mean?
Not too cold, not too hot
What could the natural causes of global warming be?
- we are warming after an ice age
- mega volcanoes give dust and gases which mean they can block out the sun and change the weather
Gasses in the atmosphere…
H2o- steam
Co2- burning fossil fuels
Ch4- animal waste
N2o- (nytrogen oxide)
What country uses the most energy?
USA
How do the gasses warm up the earth?
The sun heats the earth and the earth reflects some heat away but the heat can’t escape because it is trapped by gases.
How will global warming affect us?
It will get hotter
Some animals won’t be able to adapt
Lots of floods
