Q

Causes

A
  • Green House Effect is a term used to describe the earth having a greenhouse effect above where the sun’s heat is trapped by the earth’s atmosphere
  • However, due to the greenhouse effect, some of the heat that should be reflected off the earth’s surface is trapped by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere

Q

Global temperature rise

A

An increase in the melting of ice raises sea levels, resulting in a decrease in land area.
Rising sea levels also have an impact on increasing bleaching and the extinction of various types of fish.

Q

Agriculture

Impacts

A
  • delays in planting
  • failure to plant due to floods, landslides, or droughts
as a result, agricultural production decreases

Q

Fishery

A

An increase in sea water temperature causes bleaching of coral reels. Seawater temperature also cause fishes to migrate massively to cooler areas. This phenomenon is detrimental to fishermen because their catch decreases

Q

Health

A

The impact of global warming on the health sector is the increasing frequency of tropical diseases, such as mosquito-borne diseases, outbreaks of diarrhea, rat urine and skin diseases.

17
Q

Ways to prevent global warming

A
  • don’t cut down trees indiscriminately
  • do reforestration
  • plant trees in the yard of the house
  • use energy-saving lamps and turn off lights during the day
  • reduce the use of private vehicles
18
Q

Takakura method

A
  • put the cardboard in the basket to keep it moisture
  • put in rice husks which function to absorb water that is produces by waste. The husks were made to resemble pillows by sewing them onto netting
  • pour in the decomposing bacteria
  • place organic waste that has been chopped into the basket
  • on top of all the layers, place another rice husks pillow
  • cover it with a piece of cloth to avoid flies
  • stir the mixture everyday so that the decomposing bacteria can decompose the waste evenly
