3 days treatment
IV if severe (systemic signs)
Artemether + lumefantrine
IM or PO
more lipophillic
CYP3A4 substrate
Artesunate + Amodiaquine/Mefloquine
IV or PO
ADR: hypersensitivity, mild GI, rare QT, rare hepatotoxicity
CAUTION: renal/hepatic failure
Who do we treat for malaria?
Children and adults
EXCEPT: pregnant women in first trimester
