How many types of Slap lesions and what are they
A
- 4 types
- labrum fraying (type 1) to tear which extends into biceps tendon (type 4)

What is a Non- SLAP lesion
A
- Degenerative and vertical labral tears
- Unstable lesion such as Bankarts lesion

Mechaism of injury
A
- Repetitive overhead throwing
- GRID
- Scapula Dyskinesia ( movement of the scapula that is dysfunctional
- Excessive inferior traction ( carrying / dropping or catching a heavy object

Clinical features?
A
- Poorly localized shoulder pain
- Aggravted with arm behind back + overhead activities
- Popping or catching

Examination?
A
- Anterior shoulder tenderness
- Pain on resisted biceps contraction

Investigation?
A
MRI

Treatment?
A
Arthroscopy
- debridement ( type 1 fraying and degeneration)
- reattachment of labrum to glenoid
- Fixation (unstable lesion - bankart lesion)
Address shoulder instability
