Glaucoma Flashcards
Which test would you run to test for:
IOP measurement?
Tonometry
Which test would you run to look for:
optic nerve damage?
Fundoscopy
You can assess for optic nerve damage via measuring cup to disc ratio (normal is <0.3)
Which test would you run to test for:
angle between cornea and iris?
Gonioscopy
Which test would you run to test for:
fields of vision?
Perimetry
What does pachymetry do?
Assesses for thickness of the cornea
What does optical coherence tomography (OCT) do?
It measures the thickness of the retina, which is important in detecting the progression of glaucoma and monitoring for treatment.
What does gonioscopy do?
It measures the angle between iris and cornea to differentiate open angle to closed angle glaucomas.
What does tonometry do?
It measures the IOP
What does the perimetry do?
It assesses the field of vision.
