What are the themes?
Identity, Truth vs reality, Kindness towards those who need it, the power of belief
What does the title glass mean?
It is meant to represent how fragile individuals can be, it also represents a reflection of the characters both for themselves and of how society sees them.
What does Dr. Staple do?
She deceives all three men by making them believe that their abilities all have rational explanations. (ie mental illness or cognitive abilities)
What was the importance of the minor characters?
None of them gave up on their counterparts
What was Dr. Staple’s secret?
She was apart of a secret society, who have clover tattoos. Clovers are a symbol for luck, which is ironic because they make their own much by taking out individuals they believe are too powerful. They say they do this because “there can’t be gods among us.” Ironic again, because by doing this (taking out heroes/villians) they become the strongest force in society.
What is David’s weakness?
Water, because when he was younger he drowned.
What is Kevin’s weakness?
Casey/kindness, something that he was never given in life. Was abused by his mother, father was killed in the crash caused by Elijah.
What is Glass’ weakness?
His fragile bones, osteogenesis imperfecta
What colours are the characters assigned?
Green (David) , purple (Elijah) , yellow (Kevin) , (colours that mimic a bruise)
How are the characters related?
Elijah caused the train crash that gave David his powers, and killed Kevin’s father. The death of Kevin’s father left him with his abusive mother, causing his personality to fracture (DID) thus causing the beast. In essence Elijah takes responsibility for having made the both of them, and making them realize their potential.
