Describe the Review, Assess, Start cycle in general for selecting initial treatment in adults and adolescents with diagnosis of asthma
What is the preferred treatment for adults and adolescent patients with symptoms less than 3-5 days per week or mildly reduced lung function?
What about symptoms most days, or waking at night once a week or more, or low lung function?
Daily symptoms, waking at night, once a week or more and low lung function or recent exacerbation?
IMPORTANT NOTE, it is not recommended to do the ICS and SABA when needed as they should be on a controller regulary if they need it (see asthma treatment notes regarding this)
Describe the preferred track for furthering therapy in patients with uncontrolled symptoms according to GINA - >12 years old?
What is the alternate track?
How does GINA recommend starting asthma treatment in patients 6-11 who:
1. Have symptoms less than 2 days a week
2. Have symptoms 2 to 5 days a week
3. Have symptoms most days or waking at night once or more a week
4. Symptoms on most days, waking at night once or more a week and low lung function
