A

Citrus and other flavors more dominant than Juniper. On the border of legally being gin because of their low level of juniper.
Contemporary Gins are gins which have a predominant flavor of anything other than juniper. Juniper is always present, but the gin overall may have a character which emphasizes other botanicals.
Can be floral, spice forward, citrus forward or herbal forward.

What is Genever?

A

A Dutch Gin
The precursor to gin.
Started in Holland
Made in a pot still, the spirit is sweeter but less alcoholic than London Dry gin. Juniper and malt are the dominant aromatics in genever, and the gin may be aged in oak casks, taking on color and roundness from the wood.
