irrigate daily at same time, use warm water. Wash around stoma with mild soap and water after each ostomy bag change, ensure puch opening extends at least 1/8 inch around stoma

avoid injections, use small bore needs for IV, maintain pressure for 5 minutes on all venipuncture sites, use electric razor, soft toothbrush, check stools and emesis for occult blood
