A

Non-organic - the body is not getting what it needs
ex. lack of formula, lack of touch
contributing factors are -
inadequate care giving- drug use, mental illness
poverty
inadequate knowledge

be calm but persistent
follow a structured routine
watch for cues from the child
be face to face with the child and talk to them while feeding

A

maintenance fluid amount

50 ml per Kg next 10 Kg
20 ml per Kg remaining Kg

When do they need more?
When do they need less?

Output expectations
1 to 2 ml per kg per hour

Keep a record of what you give them and what comes out, weigh diaper - 1 gram = 1 ml
