Screening for GDM?

A

OGTT

Previous GDM -> OGTT asap after booking + 24-28wks

Any RFs -> OGTT at 24-28wks

A

Remember 5678

Fasting glucose >= 5.6mmol/L
2hr glucose >=7.8mmol/L

How do you manage GDM?

A

Antenatal:

  • Review with joint Diabetes/antenatal clinic within 1wk
  • Clinic should be in contact with pt every 1-2wks throughout pregnancy
