There is direct Object
The teacher allowed us to talk as long as it was in English
Make is followed by
Infinitiver verb without to
Stop + -ing
To stop an activity
Stop + to + infinitive
Stop a previously activity to do something else
Try + -ing
To attempt to solve a problem:
I tried turning the tap but the water still pored out
Try + to + infinitive
To attemp and fail to do something
I tried to turn the tap but it was too old and rusty.
Forget/Remember + -ing
Thinkinf back to a special time in the past:
I remember seeing a bull running down the High Street
Forget/Remember + to + infinitive
Thinking about something that must be done in the future:
I must remember to watch the news tonight.
Followed by ask
to + infinitive
