Q

Immunology theory of aging (Immunity theory)

A

the theory holds that the rate of aging, a highly complex series of processes, is largely controlled by the immune system. As we age, the number of critical cells in the immune system decrease and become less functional. The body has a series of responses to protect against foreign materials, virus and bacteria. With age the immune system decreases in functioning (immunosensescence) and may also no longer recognize itself and attach it own tissues (autoimmune response)
