Ethics
Moral principles that govern a person’s behavior or the conducting of an activity. A discipline that uses spcial methods and approaches to exemplify moral situations and consciously calls into question assumptions about existing components of our moralities that fall into the category of habits, customs or traditions.
Discernment
The ability to obtain sharp perceptions or to judge well (or the activity of so doing). In the case of judgment, discernment can be psychological or moral in nature. Within judgment, discernment involves going past the mere perception of something and making nuanced judgments about its properties or qualities. Considered as a virtue, a discerning individual is considered to possess wisdom, and be of good judgement; especially so with regard to subject matter often overlooked by others.

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for: People who are 65 or older Certain younger people with disabilities People with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD). It does not cover long term care except for short term rehab care.
Medicare Supplemental Insurance (medigap)
Insurance which assists with paying medical costs not covered by Medicare. 11 standard policies available differing by price and benefits.
Medicare part D
Medicare prescription drug coverage is insurance run by insurance company or other private company approved by Medicare
Medicare Part C
A managed care option for Medicare enrollees called Medicare Advantage
Medicare Part B
Covers medically necessary service like doctor services, outpatient care, home health services, and other medical services that Part A does not cover. A monthly premium must be paid in order to get Part B.
Medicare Part A
Hospital insurance that helps cover inpatient care in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, hospice and home health care. Most individuals get this part when they turn 65.
Calorie restriction model
Metabolic theory says that calorie restriction in diet increases the lifespan, slows down metabolism, and delays onset of a number of chronic conditions. Dietary restriction as an experiment approach to extending lifespan in mammals. The slowing of metabolism rate and oxidative stress = diminishing free radicals.

Entails responsibilities that have clinical, ethical, and legal dimensions. It is highly individualized through the idea of person-centered care. Navigation between friendly and professional conduct, caring expressed through technical competence and having care as part of the professional responsibility. Professional responsibility is comprised of accountability and responsiveness

The brain’s ability to cope with pathology Has been suggested as a mechanism for the link between educational experiences and risk of dementia and cognitive decline
Comprehensive geriatric assessment
SOAP Subjective Objective Assessment Plan Includes information on diagnosis, medications, nutrition, continence, defecation, cognition, emotion, mobility, cooperation with care plan Interdisciplinary approach
Conservator
An individual appointed by a court of law to manage a mentally incapable individual’s financial and related concerns This is a protective arrangement to the benefit of the incapable individual
Correlation research
Correlational research is a type of non-experimental research method, in which a researcher measures two variables, understands and assess the statistical relationship between them with no influence from any extraneous variable.

To hold aside certain variables to that it is not a factor when assessing the relationship
