What was the RAD
The National Labour Service Corps. It was a scheme to provide all young men with jobs. By 1935 it was made compulsory for all men aged 18-25 to serve 6 months in the RAD. (In 1939 this was extended to women)

The nazis used sucpicious methods to keep down the unemployed statistics.
Jews did not count

Scheme giving people the opportunity to pay a little every week and receive a car in 2 years. However when ww2 was declared all production was shifted to military verchles and none of the investements were refunded.

Strength through joy
Improve the workers leisure time. Included cheap familie holidays, museums, theatres, concerts,sporting. Beauty of work was a department of the kdf and it organised Canteens, swimming pools and sports facilities to be built in workplaces.

1933 law for the encouragement of marriage - every Newley married couple was given a lone of 1000 provided the wife agreed to stay out of the work industry. The couple could keep 250 for every child they had.

Why did kristalnacht take place
On 8 November a young polish Jewish man, Herschel Grynszpan, walked into the German embassy in Paris and shot the first official he met. He was protesting against the treatment of his parents who had been deported to Poland. Gobbles used this as an opportunity to organise ani- Semitic demonstrations.

-Jewish people were fined 1 billion reichmarks for having provoked attacks on themselves
- 30 April Jews were evicted from their homes into gehetos
- Jews could no longer work in shops or businesses
- SS had responsibility of deporting the Jews to different countries
- following months Jews were required to surrender precious metals and jewelery
