Location- 49th parallel along the Mosel river

Topo- very steep vineyards facing S

Soil - slate

Varieties- riesling

Viticulture- Long growing season; generally low in sugar and high in acidity

Vinification- mainly stainless steel; residual sugars left to counterbalance acidity; alcohol lvls usually low ~8%

Climate- continental/ slightly warmer; Taurus provide protection

Soil- mixture slate&others

Topo- 1 long S facing slope on N bank of Rhine

Viticulture- more reliable ripeness than Mosel

Viticulture- largest wine area in Germany. Best vineyards on west bank of Rhine. Dry riesling
