Some functions are: subject, direct objet, indirect object, object of a preposition

Exaples of an idea or concept: truth, peace, poverty, beauty, fear, justice, humor, time, hatred.

A proper noun is a noun that is the name of a specific person, place, or thing. A noun that does not state the name of a specific person, place, or thing is called a common noun.
What is a common noun?
A common noun is a noun that does not stae the name of a specific person, place, or thing.
What is a compound noun?
A compund noun is a noun made up of two or more words. A compound noun may be made up of two common nouns written as one word (snowball), as two words (school year), or with a hyphen (self-interest). It can also be a combination of a common noun and other parts of speech such as Civil War and Berlin Wall.
What is meant by “a noun has number”?
A noun has number; that is, it can be identified as being singular or plural.
Wha is gender in the gramatical sense?
Gender in the gramatical sense means that a word can be classified as masculine, feminine, or neuter.

Examples are:
