Geometry Flashcards
Vertical Angles
Angles that are across from each other when two lines intersect, always equal each other.
Equilateral Triangle
All angles equal 60 so all three sides are equal.
Isosceles Triangle
When two of three sides are equal which means two of the angles are equal.
Third Side Rule
The length of any one side of a triangle must be less than the sum of the other two sides and greater than the difference between the other two sides.
Right Isosceles Triangle
Angles=90, 45, 45. Sides equal x,x, x(square root of 2).
30:60:90 Triangle
Sides are equal to x, 2x, x(square root of 3).
Chord
A Line that connects two points on the circumference of a circle.
Radius
A line that extends from the center of a circle. It is the key to circle problems.
Arc
A section of the outside, or circumference, of a circle.
Central Angle
An angle formed by two radii.
Square root of 2
~1.4
Square root of 3
~1.7
Inscribed Circle
Diameter of the circle is the same as a side of the square.
Volume of Cylinder
area of circle x height
Formula for Diagonal inside 3D rectangle
a^2+b^2+c^2=d^2
