Q

what is a plate boundary

A

• The Earth’s crust is broken up into tectonic plates.
• These can be:
• Continental- found under land masses
• Oceanic- found under the ocean
• Where two plates meet is called a plate boundary.
• Tectonic plates move due to convection (heat) currents in the mantle.
• Plates can move in different directions resulting in different types of
plate boundaries
