What is a “HILL”?
An area of land that is higher than the land surrounding it.
What is a “VALLEY”?
A long and narrow indentation in the Earth, usually carved out by a river.

A finger of highland.
What is a “PLATEAU”?
An elevated area of fairly level land.
What is a “RIDGE”?
A long narrow land, steeply sloped on either side.

A lower bit between two highland areas.

We go from the eastings and then the northings.
