Q

What is the acknowledgment of country and why is it important?

A

The acknowledgment of country is the opportunity to acknowledge and pay respects to the traditional Owner and ongoing owners of the land. It is often used at meetings, speeches, formal occasions, and every opening of Parliament House. It is important because it reminds us of the horrible exclusion they have had and we are trying to reunite Australia once again. It also promotes awareness about their culture and history.
