What Are Latitude Lines?
Latitude are the flat lines they go around the globe at intervals measured by degrees
What are longitude lines?
longitude lines are the lines that go longways down the earth that go east and west measured in degrees
What are the primary directions?
North and South
What Are Bearings?
provides a direction given as the primary compass direction (north or south), degree of angle, and an east or west?
What does B.O.L.T.S stand for?
B - BORDER
O - Orientation
L - Legend
T - Title
S - Scale
Why do we use BOLTS?
As a guide to draw a map
What is the Prime Meridian?
The prime meridian allows us to have a left half and a right half of the earth based of the middle of the globe going vertically
What is a written Scale
A written scale is a numeric ratio, eg. 1:100,000
What are the different types of communities
- Metropolitan
- Urban
- Regional
- Rural
- Remote
Define Metropolitan?
CBD/Skyscrapers and highly populated areas
Define Urban?
Suburbs and big city’s
Define Rural?
Small Towns E.G Uralla
Define Remote?
Not near any infrastructure

Synoptic Charts a visual representation of weather
