- Less child deaths therefore parents are having less children
- More opportunities for mothers such as working which will limit her time on having children

- More job opportunities in cities for better salaries
- Jobs in demand in cities so more workers are needed
- Generally better life and healthcare in cities than in rural areas
How has rapid economic growth created different regions with different socio economic characteristics?
The people that have moved to cities generally have left traditional life behind as it was and is not needed anymore in the cities however people living in rural areas are still kept to this traditional life style such as the caste system which means India has in some areas a separated society with different view on many things.
How is Indias population changing?
It is going to have less of a young population compared to a greater elderly population. This also means India is soon to become the most populated country in the world.

Has increased air pollution because of factories and car exhaust etc, so therefore in the cities the pollution in the air has become a big health problem for many people.

-Lots of deforestation therefore also desertification due to demand of resources. This means a lot of the land is gone and can never be used again for agriculture.
