Q

how do you use contour lines

A

Contours are lines on maps which indicate the land height above sea level. There are two key rules * When contour lines are further apart it means that it is a gentle slope * If the contour lines are closer to together that means it is a steep slope.

Q

What is a gradient?

A

a measure of how steep a slope or a line is. Gradients can be calculated by dividing the vertical height by the horizontal distance.

Q

what is aspect

A

Aspect is the orientation of slope, measured clockwise in degrees from 0 to 360, where 0 is north-facing, 90 is east-facing, 180 is south-facing, and 270 is west-facing.

18
Q

what is on a compass in what order

A

North, East, South, west.

19
Q

what if I want a more specific compass reading? how would i do that?

A

well start from south, then if your working to east it would be SE, in the middle, or SSE if your closer to south

A

all living and non living things with a specific relationship to abiotic and biotic factors

23
Q

what is an ecosystem

A

living organisms within a community of non living components, each ecosystem has its own plant and animal community
