Located at the east coast of North America(Newfoundland to Alabama)
Folded mountains, erosion, river valleys, fertile plateaus
The Labrador current and the Gulf Stream affects the climate
Coniferous and decorous forests
The coastal plains
Located at the lowland, south-east, area of North America.
Elevated above sea level, surface is mostly flat or rolling hills, swampy and marshy
North-cold and snowy, south- warm
Sandy soil
The Great Lakes- St. Lawrence Lowland
Smallest geographic region, located around Ontario, Niagara Falls
Rolling landscape, deep river valleys
Humid continental climate.
Fertile soils and heavily treed
The interior plains
Flat, rolling hills, located in the middle of North America
Continental climate affected by its location, long hot summers, cold winters
Mixed deciduous trees and evergreens
The Canadian Shield
Great volcanic mountains, located north east of North America(Hudson bay)
Barren rock, chaotic patterns of lakes and rivers, swamps, and muskeg. The centre of the shield is covered in clay
North-winters r increasingly long, summer become shorter
Boreal forests
The Western Cordillera
West coast of North America
Rocky Mountains, volcanic mountains, folded mountains, no erosion
River valleys
Maritime climate
Tall trees, dry valleys going south
The Intermountain region
Inside/ surrounded by the Western Cordillera
Thin plateaus and isolated mountains
Streams, lakes, most doesn’t reach ocean
South- winters are short and warm, North- opposite as south
Sparse grassland to semi desert or desert, higher areas r covered in pine forest
The arctic
Located at the very north at the island THINGS
Very flat, glaciers
Basically winter all around
Basically no vegetation besides lichen
