Evidence
Document from past evidence written or told by an eye wittiness.
Primary Source
A document or record that is created by somebody who wasn’t present at the event.
Secondary Source
A persons way of thinking about a subject based on their views and experiences.
Point of View
A personal leaning or preference for a particular outlook
Bias
The order in which events occur
Chronology
The process of finding the significance of historical events.
Historical interpretation
The division of history into periods of time.
Periodization
Different geographic perspectives that historians apply to world events.
Spatial Frames
Ideas or values, such as human rights that are said to apply to all people.
Universal standards
The shared beliefs, practices, and traditions of a group.
Culture
The spread of cultural traits from one society to another.
Cultural diffusion
Customs relating to the position of men and women in society.
Gender roles
A human who subsists by hunting wild animals and gathering wild plants.
Hunter-Gatherer
A biological process in which the physical characteristic of wild plants and animals change over time because of human intervention.

A member of a group who revolves around it’s herd of animals, and moves with it’s animals
Pastoral nomad
A large political unit in which a number of different lands or peoples are governed by a ruler.
Empire
A political unit consisting of an independent city and the lands surrounding it.
City-State
A ranking of groups of people according to their importance, status, or power.
Hierarchy
A highly organized and complete society.
Civilization
Rule by the people, carried out through direct participation in government.
Direct Democracy
A system of government in which the people rule through representatives.
