Geo Quiz Flashcards
Convergent Fault
A type of fault where two plates run into each other
Mid-Oceanic Ridge
The longest mountain range in the world; along the center of the Atlantic Ocean; formed by active volcanoes through the sea floor spreading.
Tsunami
A long high sea wave caused by an earthquake, submarine landslide or volcanic activity
Sea Floor Spreading
The process by which molten material adds new oceanic crust to the ocean floor

Fault
(Geology) A crack in the earth’s crust resulting from the displacement of one sides respect with the other.
Reverse Fault
A type of fault where the hanging wall slides upward; caused by compression in the crust.
