-moderate yellows bluffs at west end
-low and wooded with open field in center along guemes channel with auto ferry landing
-tall rock bluffs from Deadman’s bay extending around casperson pt along the east shore
Guemes channel
-about 3nm long and .5nm wide at its narrowest pt, depths 8-18fm, lighted buoys mark the channel at the west end.

2- city of Seattle rock- cover at 1.5fm and is 200yds offshore

5-Shannon pt. Seafoods- cannery and wharf used for layup of 2 large unfinished yachts
6- guemes is. Ferry- small double ended auto ferry with docks on each side of guemes Chan
7- anchor cove marina - protected by woodpile breakwater with covered and open moorage
8-trident seafoods- 2 wharfs and blue cannery buildings along waterfront in anacortes
Port of anacortes
3 deep draft wharves( Curtis pier,port docks 1&2) cranes and marine railways at repair facilities, on S shore of guemes channel. Commerce includes logs, dry goods and petroleum products
Dakota creek shipyard
Medium sized ship yard with 9000 ton floating Drydock and marine travel lift. Prominent buildings on shore behind Drydock
Cap sante waterway
Dredged channel marked by day beacons and lights. 3 marinas- cap sante boat haven, fidalgo marina, anacortes marina. 1100 combined berths

KAGT(1340khz) Just West of anacortes Marina
Fidalgo bay
A shallow arm of Padilla bay, extends S from the E end of guemes channel
March pt
Low peninsula between fidalgo and Padilla bays. 2 long oil refinery piers owned by holly frontier and marathon oil extend off the north end. 2 large refineries on N end of pt with many storage tanks, stacks and industrial areas
Padilla bay
Between the mainland and the N part of of fidalgo is. Is largely occupied by drying flats
Swinomish channel
N end has twin fixed concrete highway bridges, a railroad swing bridge, 2 floats and launch ramp under the highway bridge. Has a casino, large boat dry storage facility and boat houses in cut off channel on E side
Hat island
Round island that is dome shaped with high bluffs and is heavily wooded
Dot island
Small island just SE of saddlebags Is. 72ft high, national wildlife refuge
Saddlebag island
82ft high with rocky shore. Is a state park that is wooded. A light marks the west shore
Huckleberry island
105ft high with rocky shore, is wooded and a light marks the E shore
