Geo Chap 8.1-8.3 Flashcards
Polygon Exterior Angles Theorem
The sum of the measures of the exterior angles of a convex polygon is 360
Polygon Interior Angles Theorem
The sum of the measures of the interior angles of a convex n-gob is (n-2) x 180
Parallelogram
A quadrilateral with both pairs of opposite sides parallel
Theorem 8.3 Congruent Sides
If a quadrilateral is a parallelogram, then it’s opposite sides are congruent
Theorem 8.4 Opposite Angles
If a quadrilateral is a parallelogram, then it’s opposite angles are congruent
Theorem 8.5 Supplementary Consecutive Angles
If a quadrilateral is a parallelogram, then it’s consecutive angles are supplementary
Theorem 8.6 Diagonals Bisect
If a quadrilateral is a parallelogram, then it’s diagonals bisect each other
Theorem 8.7
If both sides of opposite sides of a quadrilateral are congruent, then it’s a parallelogram
Theorem 8.8
If both pairs of opposite angles of a quadrilateral are congruent, then it’s a parallelogram
Theorem 8.9 Congruent and Parallel
If one pair of opposite sides of the quadrilateral are congruent and parallel, then it’s a parallelogram
Theorem 8.10
If the diagonals of a quadrilateral bisect each other, then it’s a parallelogram
5 ways to prove a quadrilateral is a parallelogram
1) Both pairs of opposite sides are parallel
2) Both pairs of opposite sides are congruent
3) Both pairs of opposite angles are congruent
4) One pair of opposite sides are congruent and parallel
5) The diagonals bisect each other
